Hi & Welcome to my Shop. My name is Penny and I make Primitive Dolls and many other Primitive & Folk Art items. I have sold on eBay for almost three years. I have decided to branch out a bit and my wonderful Prim Sisters at the eBay Community Group, OPSG, or the Olde Primitive Sisters Group made that branching-out possible by starting this lovely website. Every doll I make is unique. I make one at a time. There may be slight variations from the doll in the photo. I might use different buttons, or the colors of the dolls body might vary. Click image to enlarge Libby Brown Libby is made from prim stained osnaburg. I painted her with acrylics & sanded several times. Each layer made her look older and rougher. Finally I grunged her heavily with coffee, vanilla, & cinnamon. She is partially rag stuffed so she sits up nicely. Her eyes are two mismatched, vintage buttons, her nose and mouth are pinch-stitch sculpted. Her hair is a wool yarn that’s a very sassy auburn color. It’s got a lot of the coffee, vanilla, & cinnamon grunge in it! I stitched the hair in place, then styled it in little wavy pigtails. *********PLEASE NOTE********** Libby is very heavily GRUNGED with a prim mixture of coffee, vanilla, & cinnamon. Then I baked and grunged her again. If you like dirty, old, grubby looking babies, you’ll LOVE HER! Some of the photos look light, but I assure you, that’s just a flash overexposure on the photo. Libby holds a little Star Ornie (attached w/ rusty pin) that’s rag-stuffed, heavily aged, and stained. The Star Ornie is about 3 inches wide & decorated with a rusty bell. Little Patriotic Libby also has a Flag Stitchery Ornie that's made from osnaburg, quilted w/ batting, and embroidered. There's a little blue w/ white stars patch and red stripes. I added, "God Bless the USA" in a crude stitch. Both ornies are just attached w/ a rusty pin, so you can display Libby with or without them. Libby’s little skirt is made of a very grungy blue ticking. I gathered it up with embroidery floss and attached w/ rusty pin & bell. Then I made her a little skirt from a sweet, patriotic midnight blue w/ white stars fabric and gathered it with floss as well. Libby is roughly 14 inches tall. Her Heart Ornie is about 3 inches wide, and is rag stuffed. The Flag Ornie is about 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. This is a quality doll and well worth the price. People who have purchased various dolls from me in the past and have been happily surprised at the quality of work. They have stated that the piece “…was much nicer in person…”. Read my feedback.
