Primitive Folk Art Rabbit MakeDo
|
My springtime rabbit has some carrots, fresh out of the garden. He is made from muslin, with a sculpted nose, button eyes and whiskers. He is dressed in green checker homespun, with a plaid homespun bow tie, and plaid homespun patches on both his arms. He was then grunged with cinnamon and stain. The base he sits on is a candle holder that has been painted black, then distressed slightly. In his paws, he holds a bundle of three muslin carrots, and from his bow, hangs a tag reading "Spring Thyme." If you wish to include him in your harvest decorations, I would include a hang tag that says " Harvest Carrots." Altogether, he stands at approximately 18 1/2 inches including tall, including the ears. A perfect addition to any home.

Primitive Barn Star Ornies
|
These are great hand painted barn star ornies. Four of the five ornies were made out of muslin. I painted each one to resemble a barn star, by using two tones of coordinating paint, shaded them, antiqued them and then grunged them in a mixture of good smelling coffee, vanilla and cinnamon. The stars are in the colors of barn red, colonial blue, mustard, and antique white.
The fifth star was sewn from homespun with and checks and stars. Then for fun I added some baling twine, for that truly prim look. Then I added a rusty old bell to the homespun star.
If you are looking for that something different and unique for your ornies collection, this might be it.
